Fortune Owes Me

Noah Calder has been the city's punching bag for twenty-nine years, and the show is honest about why: his luck was stolen before he could walk. The old woman who hands him a black coin isn't offering comfort — she's opening an account. Every insult, every betrayal, every scrap of malice aimed at Noah now converts into balance he can spend, and watching a broke Chicagoan quietly invoice the universe is this series' dirtiest pleasure. What lifts it above a standard luck-power fantasy is the arithmetic of grudges: the ledger turns petty cruelty into leverage, so even small humiliations compound into serious money and influence. The tycoon who originally robbed him makes a satisfying long-game villain, and the 54 episodes keep the escalation honest. The premise is silly in the best way, the pacing is brisk, and the payback stacks week by week. Viewers who enjoy underdog arithmetic and fate-bending revenge will find this one hard to put down.
