My Dad Came Back as a K9

Grief and procedure share a leash in this one. Top detective Caleb is murdered, wakes up as police dog Rook, and attends his own funeral — where the genre's best idea happens: he cannot testify, so the case must be rebuilt through sniffing, barking, and his daughter Riley, a K9 handler who slowly recognizes her father's gestures in the animal beside her. That recognition thread is the show's heart, and it plays the absurd premise completely straight, which is why it lands. The mentor-suspect mystery gives the back half a proper whodunit spine, and the kidnapping case supplies urgency without tipping into misery. It is sentiment-forward fantasy: expect wet eyes, not twists that survive daylight scrutiny. For viewers who cry at dog movies and like their procedurals with fur, this forty-five-episode reunion is an easy, sincere watch that earns its tears honestly.
