Ella, an assassin raised by the blood-hunter order Silver Blade, takes the contract to buy her freedom — and fails completely the moment she reaches his castle. The cat-and-mouse that follows is the good kind: he knows exactly what she is, and neither of them is in a hurry to end the game.
