He Sent Me a Lover

Few short dramas commit to the drama quite like this one does. On the surface this is a Romance serial, but underneath it is a story about two people orbiting one inevitable collision — and "He Sent Me a Lover" plays both layers for all they are worth.

The premise is as ruthless as it sounds: Natalie Vance is married off to Edward Sterling, a powerful husband who cannot father an heir — so he hires one. Sebastian Reed is the man brought in for the job, and what starts as humiliation slowly turns into the first honest thing in Natalie's life. The two of them quietly build a case against the Sterling family while pretending nothing is happening, and the tension between duty, disgust and desire carries the whole show.
