This is the kind of guilty-pleasure serial that knows exactly what it is. On the surface this is a Werewolf / Forbidden Love serial, but underneath it is a story about wanting what you are not supposed to want — and "Elegy of the Damned" plays both layers for all they are worth.

Clara wakes inside her coffin, her soul watching her own funeral — until the brutal Northern Wolf King bursts in, drinks poisoned wine and collapses beside her. The monster of her life turns out to be the only one willing to die for her, and rebirth makes the choice explicit: reject the ex-fiancé, accept the chains-and-obsession package, survive the primal bloodline waking inside her. Dark, ornate, shameless.
