Few short dramas commit to the drama quite like this one does. On the surface this is a Romance serial, but underneath it is a story about payback served cold — and "Desire In Rose Town" plays both layers for all they are worth.

Roseville is the kind of town where the law is a suggestion, and when the old mayor drops dead he leaves behind a fortune in gold and four people who each hold one piece of the puzzle: a widow with half a map, a daughter with the other half, a lover with the vault key, and a nun with a code written where no one should ask. Watching four wary women decide whether to trust each other or gut each other is the whole pleasure of this period piece.
